Here are a few pictures of the renovation process we carried out to transform two shop units and a residential home into what you now know as the Connies. It was a big job that could not have been done without Alex, his brothers Brendan and Colin, and young Timsbury lad Olly Green.
We have a book detailing our full renovation, with photo captions, at the shop that you can browse whilst visiting us.
Here is a wonderful picture of the Connies when it was Whittles, a drapers shop, many years ago.
A few years ago we were paid a visit by his daughter, who said she used to sit in the window and watch for customers. She loved coming to sit in the very same window to enjoy a pot of tea and some cake.
A very special moment.
We are parents to three young children and so definitely understand the value of finding a special corner for children when you want to pop out for some good coffee and cake or a hearty breakfast!
Alex added our clever little children's worktop and bench with funky photo mural at the beginning of the year and it has proved a real hit. You'll find crayons, colouring sheets, books and a small selection of toys to entertain small hands.
We are a cosy tea room and bistro nestled in the heart of Timsbury, a beautiful village just south of Bath.
Opening in November 2011 we had the aim of making and serving our customers delicious homemade food, alongside wonderful leaf teas and freshly brewed coffee.
Today we still follow that ethos of quality and great taste. Even as our menus have evolved and expanded, customer satisfaction is at the centre of what we do.
